The Education Ministry has not deposited money for the pension of its employees for the past six months.

Seven percent of the basic salary is deducted from the employee for pension, while the same amount must be paid by the employer.

It is understood that the ministry pays the deduction from the employees, but has not been paying what the ministry owes as pension.

Adhadhu contacted the ministry for comment.

Recently, a case of non-payment of pensions by the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) also emerged.

It was revealed in January that WAMCO had not paid the employees' pensions for 14 months, including the deduction from employees.

There are also speculations that some other government agencies were not paying pensions as stipulated by law.

The amount, date and benefits received from the pension can be viewed through the pension portal.
