Government opens applications for flats and land under its housing program

The government has opened applications for the Aailee Boahiyaavahikan (Family Housing) program under its "Housing for All" policy.

Under this program, land and flats will be given from the Greater Male' Region.

The deadline for applications for land ends on March 4 at 11:59 pm, while the deadline for applications for flats ends on April 17 at 11:59 pm.

Applications can be submitted through the "Housing for All" portal. A video on the portal shows how to fill out the form and how to verify the e-pass.

Under the Aailee Boahiyaavahikan (Family Housing) program, 15,000 land plots and 7,900 flats will be handed over.

The land plots will be given from Rasmale', while the flats will be built in Hulhumale'.

Land will be allocated to Male' natives and people from other islands who have resided in Male' for more than 15 years. Land plots have a fixed size of 1,250 square feet.

Under the scheme, 10,000 plots will be given to Male' natives , 3,000 plots will be given to people from other islands and 2,000 plots are in other categories.

Meanwhile, 4,000 flats have been allocated for Male' natives, 1,500 for people from other islands and 2,400 flats for special priority categories.

Special priority categories include various government offices, police, army, correctional service and other institutions.
