Owner fined MVR 128,000 for violating rules to build PNC office

The Male' city council has fined the owner of Henveiru Veyovilla house for constructing a five-floor building for the main headquarters of the ruling People's Congress (PNC) in violation of building regulations.

Reliable sources told Adhadhu that the owner, Safiyya Zubeir, was fined MVR 128,545 for carrying out work on the land without obtaining permission under administrative rules on construction.

The fine was imposed for violating three sections of the regulations.

The building previously housed the main headquarters of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and the Democrats. President Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the PNC headquarters at the building on Thursday (January 8).
