Alia Group, one of the Maldives’ leading private companies, has donated USD 20,000 to support relief and recovery efforts in Sri Lanka following the recent devastating natural disaster that has impacted communities across the country.

As part of this contribution, Alia’s Chief Financial Officer formally handed over the donation to the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the Maldives, Mohamed Rizvi Hassan, in a gesture of solidarity and support.

Sri Lanka and the Maldives share a long history of friendship, cultural ties, and close bilateral relations. Many Sri Lankans live and work in the Maldives, contributing significantly to the community across various sectors.

In this spirit of partnership and solidarity, Alia said its contribution aims to assist those affected and support ongoing humanitarian efforts.

Alia extended its heartfelt sympathy to all individuals and families impacted by the disaster and expressed its confidence in the resilience and strength of the Sri Lankan people.
