The Trump Organization has announced plans to build a luxury resort in the Maldives.

The Trump International Hotel Maldives, close to Male', will be developed by the Trump Organization and UK-registered real estate company Dar Global.

"We are delighted to bring the Trump brand to the Maldives in collaboration with Dar Global. This development will not only redefine luxury in the region but also set a new benchmark for innovation in real estate investment through tokenization," said Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the organization.

The resort will be built on an island 25 minutes away from the Velana International Airport (VIA). The resort is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.

The Trump Organization wants to build 80 rooms in the resort, including water and beach villas. This is the brand's first property in the Maldives.

This initiative tokenizes the development phase, offering investors the opportunity to participate in a high-growth, premium real estate project from inception.

Tokenization is the process of converting a hard asset into digital tokens. This is also the first time in the world that a project in development is tokenized.

The resort is expected to be operated by Dar Global Development Maldives. The company was registered in the Maldives in January 2024.
