Some households in Fuvahmulah are still unable to get clean water despite the government claiming that the water supply has resumed across the city.
A resident from the southern city told Adhadhu that some households were getting contaminated water, which is not safe to use.
"The water problem is still unsolved. There is a colour problem. It looks like coconut water in a glass. It is not safe to drink," he said.
Several residents have expressed concern on social media and shared photos of the whitish water. They also said the water has a smell.
According to the state utility company Fenaka, water service has been restored to all parts of the city. The company insisted that the water is now safe to use.
The Health Ministry said the results of tests conducted on the water confirmed that it meets the World Health Organization (WHO) standards.
The water supply in Fuvhamulah got contaminated due to damage to parts of the water network. Some chemicals that kill bacteria are not available in the city.
During President Mohamed Muizzu's recent visit to the city, the council complained about the water issue.
The water samples taken by the Utility Regulatory Authority on November 4 were unsafe for consumption and the service was suspended for several days.
There are currently more than 150 tourists in the city with a population of more than 10,000.
