Registration is opening for households to get the government’s Ramadan gifts.

Dhaalu Meedhoo council has now opened registrations for the free gifts. The government has not announced what will be given away for next Ramadan.

In an announcement on November 5, Meedhoo council said households must register before November 10.

The government issued free tuna cans as a Ramadan gift this year. MVR 111.8 million from the state budget was spent on the gift.

However, the proposed state budget for 2026 does not include any amount for Ramadan gifts.
