The first batch of teachers at Mind Champs International Pre-School Maldives has completed their training in Singapore.

The Mind Champs team left for Singapore on October 20 for a 10-day training tour. The teachers were accompanied by Mind Champs management, principal and leading teachers.

Mind Champs Maldives Principal, Amatullah Shakeeb, said the participants visited two of Singapore's largest schools and gained practical experiences.

“During these 10 days, besides the formal training, the whole team learned from each other by being together. We also went to two of the biggest schools in Singapore and gained hands-on experience,” she said.

Teachers have to complete an educational certificate and teaching qualification, as well as 200 hours of training, before beginning work at Mind Champs.

The 200-hour training includes an online training component, an eight-day training component at the Mind Champs headquarters in Singapore and a 12-day training at the Neuromoves gym at the Mind Champs International Pre-School Maldives building.

The main objective of the training is to familiarize teachers and management with the philosophy of Mind Champs, different teaching methods and the curriculum developed by Mind Champs.

Key components of teacher training developed by the Mind Champs research team include the S.M.I.L.E.S. approach (Sensory, Motor, Intellectual, Linguistic, Emotional, and Social Development), Mind Champs Reading and Outing, Inquiry Teaching and Learning, Neuromoves and Creativity and Theatrical Strategies.

Mind Champ Maldives is currently working on the interior of the school building and establishing the school facilities in accordance with its standards.

The admissions process for students whose parents have already booked slots will take place in the last week of November. Admission will be open to more students as slots become available.
