Brazilian brand Havaianas has opened its first outlet in the Maldives.

Havaianas sells quality flip flops and bags for men, women and children.

Havaianas operates in the Maldives under a partnership with Providence Pvt Ltd and Brazilian company Alpargatas.

Providence Director Mohamed Haanee said the prices of products imported directly from Brazil will be cheaper.

"Every pair of flip-flops is made in Brazil. The difference is that the design as well as the manufacture is done in Brazil. We are importing directly from Brazil. The store we opened in the Maldives will offer products at a lower price compared to globally," he said.

Haanee added that Havaianas products will be available to islands and resorts, along with wholesale options, in the coming days.

Founded in Brazil in 1962, Havaianas has more than 1,000 outlets in more than 100 countries.
