Fifty scholarship opportunities opened under Zakat Fund

Fifty scholarship opportunities have been opened under the Zakat Fund for higher education in the Maldives and abroad.

During a ceremony held at the Islamic Centre on Monday, 20 scholarship opportunities were opened to study in the Maldives, while 30 opportunities were opened to study abroad.

The scholarship opportunities in the Maldives are for master's courses at the Maldives National University (MNU) and the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).

Scholarship categories in the Maldives

  • Master of Arts in Quranic Sciences – 6 opportunities
  • Master of Islamic Revealed Knowledge, Leadership and Administration – 3 opportunities
  • Executive Masters in Islamic Finance – 5 opportunities
  • Master of Arts in Sharia – 3 opportunities
  • Master of Arts in Islamic Studies – 3 opportunities

Scholarships in Malaysia and Brunei

  • Bachelors in Halal Industry Management - 2 opportunities
  • Master of Islamic Banking and Finance/Masters of Science in Islamic Finance – 2 opportunities
  • Master of Education in Teaching of Islamic Education - 1 opportunity
  • Master of Quranic and Sunnah Studies - 1 opportunity
  • Master of Islamic Science - 1 opportunity
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Sharia and Judiciary – 1 opportunity
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Science – 1 opportunity
