Social media users have slammed the national bank, Bank of Maldives (BML), over money missing from their accounts.
Discontented customers took to social media on Monday, with some reporting double transactions while others alleged money had been deducted for transactions they did not make.
A man named Mohamed Zameer said in a post on X that each transaction had been deducted twice from his account.
"This is wrong," he wrote.
Another person wrote that MVR 1800 was missing from their account and that this was not the first time it had happened.
"This is our hard-earned money," the post read.
Customers who tried to contact BML complained about inadequate responses from their call centre, AI bot (Aya) and mobile app.
In response to social media posts, BML said they were trying "to promptly resolve the issue."
"We express our sincerest apologies once again for the inconveniences caused."
