Mohamed Waheed has been removed from the Board of Directors of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) announced in a post on social media that Waheed has been removed from the post of HDC director.
Waheed was suspended and his passport was seized last year for alleged involvement in the Binveriya land sale by forging documents.
Police decided in March to release all the passports.
Police have not released any further information about the investigation. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is conducting a separate investigation into the allegations.
Twenty passports were seized under a court order in connection with the case.
They include former HDC Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, his brother Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed, HDC board members and Deputy Housing Minister Azuhar Abdullah Saeed (Azhart) and some current and former political appointees of the ministry.
