A total of MVR 13.3 million was collected as Fitr Zakat during Ramadan.

The Islamic Ministry announced the details of the Fitr Zakat on Saturday. The figures show that the majority of the people paid their Zakat through the Bank of Maldives (BML) app.

• Through BML: MVR 7,395,386
• Through island councils: MVR 1,842,626
• Through MIB: MVR 1,200,724
• Through Dhiraagu: MVR 392,802
• Through Ooredoo: MVR 136,980
• Through FahiPay: MVR 997,764
• Through BandeyriPay: MVR 809,856
• Zakat House counter: Rs 488,681

MVR 4,500 was distributed to each individual registered on the poor registry ahead of Eid-al-Fitr.
