President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with Estonian President Dr. Alar Karis during the ongoing official visit to Estonia.
This is the first visit by a Maldivian President to Estonia. The President's Office said the visit was being made at the invitation of the Estonian President.
During the meeting, Karis and Muizzu discussed strengthening bilateral ties and collaborating in tourism, education and climate change.
Muizzu highlighted Estonia’s expertise in renewable energy, smart grids and sustainable technologies as valuable models for the Maldives.
They also discussed avenues for cooperation to enhance environmental resilience and digital development in the Maldives.
Muizzu is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan and a senior government delegation.
The President's Office said he will conclude the visit on January 16.
