Dhiraagu has expanded its high-speed fibre broadband services to all the islands across the country.

The announcement was made by Dhiraagu CEO and MD Ismail Rasheed at a press conference today.

"The work is now complete. The service has started. 100 percent islands will now get fibre broadband service," he said.

Ismail Rasheed said the work was started five years ago with the cooperation of the government, island councils and the company's partners.

He said the expansion of fibre broadband services throughout the country will accelerate the pace of development in the islands.

Dhiraagu also introduced "limitless" fibre broadband packages in November 2024. The packages offer internet speeds ranging from 20 Mbps to 1 Gbmps without running out of data.

Dhiraagu recently launched the latest global super-highway SEA-ME-WE 6 (SMW6) submarine cable landing in the Maldives.

It will connect the country to the world’s main internet exchange points and data centres, further strengthening its international connectivity.

Dhiraagu fibre broadband network has the fastest speed and widest coverage network in the Maldives.
