A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Maldives and India during Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel's official visit to the country.
Khaleel and Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar signed the MoU to carry out projects in Maldives with Indian assistance.
Neither country has disclosed the details of the MoU.
Khaleel held official talks with Jaishankar and other Indian officials during his visit.
During the official discussions held in New Delhi, they acknowledged the economic partnership and the progress of ongoing projects facilitated through Indian grant assistance and line of credit initiatives.
This is Khaleel's first official visit to India since taking over as Foreign Minister on September 30, 2024.
