The V Waves – Brain and Behavior Lab has opened at Villa College.
The Brain Lab was inaugurated by National Center for Mental Health Principal Clinical Psychologist Dr. Aafiya Ali at the Psychology Symposium held at Villa College every year to mark World Mental Health Day.
At the ceremony, Aafiya said the establishment of such a lab would strengthen the treatment of patients with the help of the latest technology in the psychological and clinical fields.

Based on how EEG monitors brain waves and research in neuroscience and psychology, the new lab could lead to progress in treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, autism, attention deficit disorders, Alzheimer’s and dementia.
The fourth, fifth and sixth issues of the Villa College Psychology Bulletin were also launched at the ceremony.
The bulletin features articles on psychology and counseling written by by students at Villa College.
Panel discussions and research presentations by current students in psychology and counseling were also presented at the Psychology Symposium.
Villa College said the purpose the panel discussions and research presentations is to familiarize students with various topics in the field and to enhance their skills.
