President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided to bring major changes to the Cabinet by transferring Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer to the post of Finance Minister and Health Minister Abdulla Khaleel to the post of Foreign Minister.

The government is yet to comment on the changes although it was confirmed to Adhadhu. President's Office Spokesperson Heena Waleed could not be reached for comment as she did not answer the phone.

This is the first change to the Cabinet of President Muizzu.

Adhadhu understands that Public Policy Secretary at the President's Office Abdulla Nazim will become the new Health Minister. He previously served as the Health Minister during the government of former President Abdulla Yameen.

The new position of former Finance Minister Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq is unclear. It is also unclear why the government had to make these changes.

The changes brought to the Cabinet have been publicised on the President's Office website.
