Aishath Raihana, wife of President's Office Minister Abdulla Nasir, has been appointed to a senior post at the Maldives embassy in Turkey.

Adhadhu can confirm that she was appointed as the Third Secretary of the embassy. However, the government has not announced her appointment.

Prior to her appointment to the post, Raihana was a Deputy Minister at the President’s official residence, Muleeaage.

An embassy of the Maldives in Turkey was first announced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu late last year.

Adhadhu understands that Raihana departed from Maldives to Ankara in August.

President Muizzu's government has not disclosed the salaries of those appointed to posts in embassies.

Raihana's appointment comes after her husband Nasir took over as President Muizzu's right-hand man following the breaking down of relations between the President and his former right-hand man Adam Rameez.

Nasir was Male' city council member when President Muizzu was the Male' city's mayor.
