ADK Hospital has successfully performed two new surgeries.
The hospital performed minimally invasive spine (MIS) surgery and 3D printed titanium cranioplasty.
The two surgeries were performed by Dr. Ali Niyaf and Dr. Kiran Niraula.
The MIS surgery was performed on June 3, on a 46-year-old man. This was the first such surgery performed in the Maldives.
The patient was discharged from the hospital five days after the surgery. After the surgery, his back and leg pain was relieved, the hospital said.
The patient is expected to fully recover within a month after the MIS surgery.
The two-hour 3D printed titanium cranioplasty surgery was performed on June 18, on a 25-year-old foreign man.
The patient was discharged from the hospital on the fifth day after surgery without any issues. The patient will recover in six weeks.
This surgery is performed to treat head injuries. This surgery helps when the brain is swollen and blood leaks into the brain.
ADK is introducing many surgeries that have not previously been performed in the Maldives. The hospital is also introducing new medical services.
