President Muizzu arrives in New Delhi for Modi's swearing-in ceremony

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has arrived in New Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers of the Government of India.

The President is attending the ceremony at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi.

Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, the President was received by Secretary at the External Affairs Ministry Pavan Kapoor, High Commissioner of Maldives Ibrahim Shaheeb and High Commissioner of India Munu Mahawar.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday with leaders from neighbouring and other countries in attendance.

Modi is being sworn in for a third consecutive term in office. President Muizzu has conveyed his congratulations to Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for their victory in the Indian General Elections of 2024.
