The national airline, Maldivian, has launched throughfare service today.
The service will connect the airline's 16 domestic airports with its international destinations of Dhaka, Bangalore and Colombo, Maldivian said.
With the service starting today, domestic and international flights can be booked under the same itinerary. This will save passengers from the hassle of buying separate tickets and make it easier for passengers to travel.
Passengers using Maldivian's throughfare service will receive up to five percent discount and check-in luggage allowance on domestic flights for international flights as well.
Maldivian said throughfare services will be launched to Trivandrum and Cochin in the future. The service will be available on the airline's website, mobile application, ticketing office and sales agents.
