Kurendhoo MP Abdul Ghani Abdul Hakeem and Mulak MP Ibrahim Naseer.
Kurendhoo MP Abdul Ghani Abdul Hakeem and Mulak MP Ibrahim Naseer have left the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) to join the ruling People's National Congress (PNC).
Sources confirmed to Adhadhu that the two MPs will join the PNC and will attend a PNC rally to be held at Dharubaaruge tomorrow night.
Adhadhu understands that about 10 MPs have decided to join the PNC.
An MP who has decided to join PNC said that some MPs may not attend tomorrow night's rally but their names may be officially announced.
The ruling coalition has now sent out invitations to the rally tomorrow night. President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu will also be present.
Opposition MPs are joining PNC at a time when MDP, which holds the parliament majority, has amended the procedure for impeachment of the President.
In addition to these two MPs, Maradhoo MP Ibrahim Shareef has also recently resigned from MDP. The number of MDP MPs is now down to 53.
