President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called to renew commitment to the principles of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Charter and increase cooperation in developing a more interconnected and resilient South Asia.

In his message on the occasion of the 39th SAARC Charter Day, Muizzu stressed the importance of reflecting on the principles and values of regional cooperation, promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in South Asia.

He also stated that the SAARC has been crucial in addressing regional challenges and advancing shared goals.

The President's message was delivered to the Secretary-General, the Secretariat, and all institutions affiliated with SAARC and the people of the South Asian region.

The SAARC Charter Day is celebrated every year on December 8.
