Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has accused the government of secretly allocating the remaining units of the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) housing project.

In an interview with Raajje TV following a visit to the FDC flats yesterday evening, Solih said that he has received information that the current administration is secretly distributing unallocated flats—which remained after his administration’s agreements—to individuals connected to the government.

"A person called me the other day and said they had secured a flat. They mentioned that because they work in the government, they had managed to obtain a unit for their brother from the remaining pool of flats," Solih said.

Solih claimed that the current administration had withheld approximately 160 flats, and after distributing them to preferred individuals, around 70 units still remain.

He further noted that the current government has denied flats to 300 individuals who had received official documentation confirming their eligibility for the 4,000 units during the MDP administration. Solih pledged that the next MDP government would ensure these individuals receive their housing and vowed to reduce the monthly instalments to the rates set by his administration.
