The invitation for bids has been opened to find a party to develop and operate a tourism project in the Dhapparu area of Haa Alif Filladhoo.
According to the announcement gazetted by the Filladhoo Council, a total of 226.13 hectares of land, including the island's lagoon, has been designated for lease for the tourism project. The bidding process is open to both local and foreign investors.
Eligibility criteria for participation in the bid:
- Companies and partnerships registered with the Ministry of Economic Development under Law No. 18/2014.
- Sole proprietorships registered with the Ministry of Economic Development under Law No. 19/2014.
- Foreign investments registered with the Ministry of Economic Development under Law No. 11/2024.
The land for this project is to be leased for a period of 50 years. Furthermore, a maximum period of 36 months will be granted for the development of the site, effective from the date the lease agreement is signed.
The council stated that further information regarding the project, as well as the opportunity to inspect and purchase the bid documents, will be available at the Filladhoo Council Secretariat from August 20 to August 31, 2026, between 09:00 am and 1:00 pm on all working days.
