A fire broke out on a speedboat docked at the Hanimaadhoo harbor last night.

A launch docked at HDh. Hanimadhoo harbour was completely destroyed by a fire at midnight, leaving two crew members injured.

Maldives Police Service reported that they received information regarding the incident around 12:20 AM.

The fire resulted in injuries to the vessel's captain and a crew member. The crew member was discharged after receiving treatment at the Hanimadhoo Health Centre.

However, the captain was transferred to Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital for further medical treatment after initial care at the local health centre.

While the vessel was burnt beyond use in the incident, police are conducting a further investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
