The Government of India has donated laptops to the constituencies of six MPs of the People’s Majlis.

They include Speaker of the Parliament and Fonadhoo MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla, Kurendhoo MP Mohamed Shamin Habeeb, Manadhoo MP Husnee Mubarik, Huraa MP Anara Naeem, Kendhikulhudhoo MP Afoo Hamid, and Nilandhoo MP Fathimath Saudha.

The laptops were officially handed over by the Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives, G. Balasubramanian. The Indian High Commission said this initiative is intended to facilitate technological advancement within these constituencies.

While it has been confirmed that the donated devices are Acer brand laptops, the exact number of units provided to each MP remains unclear.

During the campaign that brought the People’s National Congress (PNC) to power, the party utilized strong anti-India rhetoric. Several of the MPs receiving this donation were prominent figures in the "India Out" campaign.
