The parliament has extended the term of the Children’s Ombudsperson Niumath Shafeeq.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu requested that the parliament extend her term. She was appointed on July 23, 2020.
The parliament, on Wednesday, extended her term by five more years.
Niumath holds an International Master's in Early Childhood Education. She completed her bachelor's degree from the University of South Queensland, Australia.
