The Body Shop outlet opens in Male'

The Body Shop, a world-renowned beauty brand, has opened an outlet in Male'.

Mayor Adam Azim officially inaugurated the new store located in front of Male' Grand on Majeedhi Magu.

The outlet has skin care and hair care, makeup, perfumes and bath and body products.

"Maldivians were in need of a Body Shop outlet. It is a pleasure to introduce such a popular brand to the Maldives," a store manager told Adhadhu.

Founded by Anita Roddick in 1976, The Body Shop emphasises ethically sourced ingredients, cruelty-free practices and fair trade sourcing.

It has now become an international retail chain serving more than 30 million customers across different countries.

The Body Shop currently operates 3,000 stores in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Dollar revenue drops 15% in September compared to 2025

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority reported a 15% drop in dollar revenue for September, falling to $126.8 million. While tourism taxes rose, the decline was driven by a sharp decrease in lease extension fees and airport taxes. Despite this monthly dip, total dollar revenue for the year remains higher than 2023 levels at $1.2 billion.

"No obstacles to conducting online transactions now"

Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed announced that Bank of Maldives has resolved previous obstacles to online transactions and e-commerce caused by the dollar shortage. The bank is also working to restore full capacity for telegraphic transfers and foreign currency issuance as the government manages unprecedented debt repayment obligations.
