Mohamed Abaan Hussain won the "Ultimate Pizza Challenge 2025" held by Pizza Buona in Hulhumale' on Saturday.
Thirty people participated in the challenge at the Food and Beverage Show, held Saturday evening at Central Park in Hulhumale'.
The participants had to eat an 18-inch pizza within 18 minutes. The champion was the participant who finished the pizza fastest.
Abaan won by eating the entire pizza in 12.44 minutes. Nirjal Kumar finished second in 13.18 minutes while Hassan Shifau finished third in 14.51 minutes.
MVR 5000 was awarded to the champion while the runner-up got MVR 2,500 and the third-place winner got MVR 1000.

Pizza Buona also awarded special vouchers to the 30 participants.
Abaan said he took part in the challenge to have fun with his friends and did not expect to win.
"I saw a post on Instagram about the challenge. I joined to have fun with my friends. I didn't expect to win first place. I'm very happy," he said.
Pizza Buona Director Hussain Haaly said the competition was well received and they are considering holding such competitions in the future.
