The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has predicted bad weather across the country for the next six days.
In a weather advisory, the Met Office said the weather is expected to be bad due to a strong cyclone in the Bay of Bengal.
"This system is expected to cause formation of intense convective clouds over the Maldives area," it stated.
The Met Office said rain with occasional heavy showers and thunderstorms will be experienced across the country from January 13 to January 18.
"Therefore, we advise all to be updated with weather forecasts, advisories and warnings to take necessary precautions," it added.
