Maldivians living and traveling to Russia cautioned over fighting

The Foreign Ministry has urged Maldivians living and traveling to Russia's Kursk region to be vigilant due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Embassy of Maldives in Germany was closely monitoring the situation of the students.

"At this time, all Maldivian residents and travelers in the area are urged to pay special attention to their own safety and security," the statement said.

A lot of Maldivian students study medicine in Russia.

The Foreign Ministry has previously urged Maldivians to be vigilant over the war between Ukraine and Russia. No Maldivians have been injured in the ongoing fighting so far.
