Some islands in the north of the Maldives were affected by an earthquake last night, the Met Office has said.
The Met Office said it received reports of the ground shaking on some islands in Haa Dhaal atoll.
A localised tremor was recorded at 8:27 pm Maldives time by a seismogram meter at Haa Dhaal Hanimaadhoo.
But the Maldives was not expected to face any danger, the Met Office said.
The Maldives Monetary Authority has restricted the $1,000 medical currency allowance to six specific countries to ensure funds are used for their intended purpose.
