The "feels like" temperature in the Male' region reached 48 degrees on Wednesday, according to the Maldives Meteorological Service.
The feels like temperature was above 40 degrees Celsius across the country yesterday, the Met office said.
The feels like temperature was 41.4 degrees in Haa Dhaal Hanimaadhoo, 43.5 degrees in Laamu Kadhdhoo, 42.6 degrees in Gaaf Dhaal Kaadedhdhoo and 41.2 degrees in Seenu Gan, the Met office said.
Temperatures in the Maldives peak during the current period, the Met office noted, adding that feels like temperature was forecast to exceed 45 degrees Celsius over the coming days.
The Met office advised precautionary measures for protection from the heat, including using umbrellas in the afternoon, applying sunscreen lotions, wearing sunglasses and staying hydrated.
The temperature will reach the highest level between 11 am and 3 pm, the Met office said.
