The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is seeking a group to offer legal consultancy to provide helicopter services in emergencies.
The government announced on February 28 to begin helicopter service for medical evacuation and search and rescue.
"The helicopter service will be provided through a competitive tender or a restricted tender, and such companies will be given an exclusivity of five to seven years," President's Office Public Policy Secretary Abdulla Nazim said at the time.
In the announcement gazetted by the Transport Ministry on Saturday, the group selected to offer legal consultancy must conduct a six-month analysis to identify the risks and impacts of the project.
"Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is seeking a well-qualified and experienced legal consultancy service provider for the “Provision of helicopter emergency services in the Maldives” project," the announcement read.
The deadline for applications is March 13, 2:00 pm.
The government has not given a specific date to begin the helicopter service.
