Some parts across the country have recorded air quality levels that can be harmful to health.
The Met Office said visibility has decreased in the north and central parts of the country due to the easterly winds.
Visibility in central atolls has dropped to five kilometers in the past 24 hours from 10 kilometers on clear days, the office said.
The IQ Air Visual App, which tracks air pollution, shows the country's air pollution level at 165.
This is a level that can affect the heart and lungs and is dangerous for lung and heart patients.
The application shows low air quality for Male' atoll, Shaviyani atoll and Laamu atoll today.
