Haa Alif Filladhoo council is seeking a developer for a large health facility in the island's tourist village zone.
According to an announcement by the council, a land plot between 50,000 and 40,000 square feet will be provided for the developer.
The land will be allocated for 50 years at a rate of at least 50 laari per square foot per month for the construction of a guest house or hotel.
Filladhoo council President Fathuhullah Hassan told Adhadhu that such a facility was needed because a tourism village is being developed in the island.
The island council has decided to develop a 2,000-bed tourism village.
The health facility developer will be selected based on the services offered and the proportion of specialist doctors, Fathuhullah said.
“We want competitive proposal bids. We are ensuring transparency, without too many specific requirements. The council will look at how many specialists will be brought a year, X-rays, laboratory services and all that,” he said.
Registration for the bid is open until 2:00 pm on January 14. Bids will be opened on January 22 at 1:05 pm at the Filladhoo council office.
Bids can be submitted by companies, partnerships and private enterprises registered with the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
