The Parliament's Government Oversight Committee has decided to give approval to the 22 ministers appointed to the Cabinet by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The Government Oversight Committee voted today to approve all the ministers. The matter will be sent to the Parliament floor.
The committee had earlier decided on the matter and sent it to the floor for a vote but the Speaker referred it back to the committee on December 18.
The matter was then sent back because the mandate of the ministries created by the new government had not been sent to parliament for approval.
Following the Speaker's decision, the mandate of the ministries was sent to Parliament for approval. The matter is now in the committee stage.
