Two new F&B outlets at Velana Airport

Two new F&B outlets have been opened at Velana International Airport (VIA).

The two outlets opened today have Grape Expectations, KFC, Costa Coffee and Grab&Fly.

The two outlets were inaugurated by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) CEO Ibrahim Shareef Mohammed, Grape Expectations Managing Director Amir Mansoor and HMSHost Operations Manager Sravan Patnaik during a ceremony held at the departure terminal.

MACL said the two outlets were added to the VIA terminal to provide more products and brands to passengers.

Grape Expectation opened the outlet under its brand, The Grape. This is the company's first such outlet.

The two companies that opened the outlets today have been operating restaurants at the airport since 2018.

Government revenue exceeds MVR 30 billion

The Maldivian government’s revenue surpassed MVR 30 billion, marking a slight increase over last year despite a slowdown in tourism-related tax growth. While tax revenue rose to MVR 23.8 billion, non-tax revenue saw a decline. Economic experts link the stagnation to a cooling tourism sector, which may impact year-end budgetary targets.

TGST declines due to low tourist arrivals
