"SATA is a South Asian organization. South Asia does not usually give awards. So I am proud to have this," he said.

Manik has played an important role in shaping the tourism of Maldives. His determination, productive services and tireless efforts have set a benchmark in the development of the sector.

SATA thanked Manik for his efforts in promoting tourism in Maldives.

The South Asian Travel Awards are one of the most prestigious tourism awards in the South Asian region. Maldivian properties have won 31 awards at this year's awards. These include 14 gold awards and 17 silver awards.
