The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has said that flooding in four islands was reported on Thursday and Friday.
According to the NDMA, all four islands reported floods following heavy rainfall.
The authority has advised the public to be vigilant as the bad weather is expected to continue for the next two days. They especially urged to take steps to minimize damages caused by floods.
Flooding was reported in Lhaviyani Naifaru and Shaviyani Goidhoo on Thursday while more reports came from Alif Alif Feridhoo and Shaviyani Maroshi on Friday.
NDMA said emergency evacuation was not needed in any of the islands and that the island councils and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) worked to drain the waters.
The NDMA is monitoring the situation in the islands where the rain alert is issued and urged the public to report if flooding occurs.
