Dhiraagu has decided to hold this year's Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race on October 27.
Dhiraagu Road Race is scheduled to start on October 27 at Central Park in Hulhumale'. This is the 14th edition of the Dhiraagu Road Race.
Dhiraagu announced the schedule for the race at a press conference held at the company's head office on Sunday.
"This event is very popular among the public and many people look forward to it. In 2007, DMRR pioneered mass participation races in the country and established the tradition of running in the country," said Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, Director, Brand and Marketing Communications.
Dhiraagu has opened the opportunity to run a half marathon in the Dhiraagu Rado Race for the first time this year. This year's race will be even more exciting with cash prizes and various activities, the company said.
In addition to the half marathon, the race will also include five kilometers and 10 kilometers.

This year's race is dedicated to child safety and protection, one of the main areas of Dhiraagu's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
It will be a significant platform for NGOs working in the area of child protection to create awareness and raise funds for their cause.
All NGOs meeting the eligibility criteria will be endorsed as a registered NGO of DMRR and will be featured on the event website. At the time of race registration, runners will have the opportunity to nominate an NGO from the list of endorsed NGOs.
Dhiraagu will provide a special grant to the top five NGOs nominated by the runners, based on the number of nominations received. NGOs will also receive contributions from the registration proceeds to help them kick-start their planned activities.
In addition, MVR 100 from each participant's registration and all proceeds from the sale of the special bib number will be donated to the endorsed NGOs.
DMRR registration will be open from Monday. Those who wish to run can register for the event by 11:59 pm on August 30 or until the 4,000 participant limit is reached.
The DMRR is the first and only international race in Maldives that brings together people and communities from different parts of the country. It is listed on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running Calendar, with a World Athletics Certified race route.
