Security problems with the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company's (MTCC) Raajje Transport Link (RTL) mobile app have been resolved after looking into complaints, the company has assured.
MTCC said in a statement released yesterday that a "security vulnerability" was reported to the company earlier this month. Safety measures have since been taken after investigating the problem, the company said.
"The company is also working on strengthening system security," the statement read.
MTCC assured that a customer's bank card details will not be stored in the company's system. Customer's banking information is only kept to the extent required to make secure payments, it added.
"We note that bank cards can be used in the RTL system in line with the security standards of partnering banks," MTCC said in the statement.
Digital facilities used in the RTL system for card transactions have been certified to the international payment card industry's standards, the company said.
