STO to develop Hulhumale' Hospital

Hulhumale' Hospital has signed an agreement with State Trading Organisation (STO) for the further development of ICU and NICU facilities.

STO's CEO and Managing Director Abdulla Saeed and Hulhumale' Hospital's CEO Mariya Saeed signed the agreement during a ceremony on Tuesday.

When the project is completed, the ICU and NICU of Hulhumale' Hospital will be equipped with the latest medical facilities and customized facilities.

The Central Sterilization Department at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) was also a project carried out by STO.

The number of people seeking services at Hulhumale' Hospital has increased as people have started living in the Hulhumale' second phase, the hospital stated.

The hospital now has a special center for mental health services and treatment of various health problems encountered in children's development. It has also started services such as an oncology center for cancer patients.

The new operating theater project at the hospital includes five operating theatres. These include orthopedic, ophthalmic, gynecological and general surgeries.

There are a total of 17 ICU beds in Hulhumale' Hospital. With the project awarded to STO, an additional 24 ICU beds will be established at the hospital.
