The government has announced that all eligible applicants will be awarded land plots under the 'Binveriyaa' housing scheme targeting the people of Male'.
Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam made the announcement at a press conference on Monday evening before publicizing the list of recipients.
Applications were opened on June 26, 2022 to give 1000 land plots in Hulhumale', 2000 land plots in Gulhi Falhu and 2000 land plots in Giraavaru Falhu.
The government announced that 3000 plots out of the total 5000 would be allocated during the first round of the scheme.
Aslam said the list announced today is a live list that will be updated to give land to those who meet the requirements.
Resolving the housing crisis in Male' is a key pledge of the current administration.
Of the 19,858 applications received under the scheme, 12,794 were eligible. Today's list includes 10,314 recipients.
The public can raise complaints or inquiries about the list from today until July 15 through the 'Gedhoruverin Portal.'
