President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has departed for the United Kingdom to participate in the commencement of a Maldives tourism promotion campaign in collaboration with Liverpool Football Club.

On March 13, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) announced its partnership as the "Official Tourist Destination Partner" for Liverpool. This collaboration launches a global campaign spanning three and half years, designed to amplify brand visibility and inspire more travellers to visit the Maldives.

During the visit, Muizzu will meet with Maldivian students and visit the AXA Training Centre, where he will observe best practices in football training and coaching.

According to the President's Office, the aim is to explore ways to incorporate high-performance training methods in the Maldives.

Muizzu will visit Leeds University and Leeds Town Hall, where he is scheduled to meet the Councillor of the City of Leeds.

The President is accompanied by Tourism Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu, MMPRC Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree and other government officials.

Muizzu is expected to conclude his visit and return to Malé on April 5.
