The government has decided to give one month to submit complaints to the recipients' list of the 4000 Gedhoruveriya flats.
Housing and Construction Minister Dr. Abdulla Muththalib told a press conference at the President's Office that complaints can be sent through the Gedhoruveriya portal.
"Those who have been marked as not getting flats will have one month to file complaints. During this period, the person who was removed from the list can file a complaint through the portal. If any member of the public has a complaint, they can submit a letter or email to the ministry," he said.
Muththalib said the process to hand over flats will begin for the recipients without any complaints.
The government said that 1,820 people in the initial list announced in November 2023 will receive the flats, while 3119 people have been disqualified.
Muththalib said the disqualified applicants will get the opportunity to submit complaints and challenge the ministry's decision.
He assured that the government has not chosen new recipients for the flats of the disqualified applicants.
