Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel departed on Saturday for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on an official visit.
The Foreign Ministry said the visit is being paid at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the visit, Khaleel will engage in high-level discussions with Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to enhance bilateral relations.
He will also have meetings with other dignitaries of the UAE government to explore collaborative initiatives, focusing on fostering partnerships and advancing mutual interests.
Foreign Ministry said this visit reflects the enduring bilateral relationship between the Maldives and the UAE and highlights shared aspirations for development, innovation and prosperity.
Khaleel was accompanied by Ambassador-at-Large Abdullah Hameed and Joint Secretary Mariyam Reesha.
His visit to the UAE comes immediately after concluding a three-day official visit to India where he met External Affairs Minister Dr. Subramanyam Jaishankar.
