Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam has said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed to facilitate fish exports to Saudi Arabia.
In a post on X, Shiyam said the MoU will allow the Maldives to explore opportunities to export fish and develop the fishing industry.
He added that the MoU includes attracting investments in the marine sector and promoting the seafood market.
Shiyam thanked Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz for agreeing to sign the MoU with the Maldives.
Senior officials, including ministers of, have visited Saudi Arabia on several occasions and held talks with Saudi government officials.
Some MoUs have been signed following the discussions. These include MoUs from the Transport Ministry and Economic Ministry.
